Wolves are in real danger of successive relegations. Charlton flirted with the lower reaches of the table for a while but were never really drawn into the scrap at the bottom. They now even have a remote chance of reaching the play-offs.
Something that may be going through the minds of some as they file into The Valley for the penultimate game of the season is this: how many more games will be staged at The Valley? There have been rumours of a move to the sports stadium the council will build as part of attaining Royal Borough status.
The 40,000 seater stadium would have much appeal for a foreign owner hoping to attract bigger gates to the club if they move up to the Premier League.
That's for the future. For now, Chris Powell will want to end the season with a flourish. Wolves, Boro and already relegated Bristol City, give Powell the perfect opportunity to do just that.
